The Trainmen Auxiliary Program (T A P) will provide the opportunity for kids age 12-18 to learn and understand how trains and railroads work.

The program is held once a month and is set up so that the youth can work towards Merits in specified areas and earn opportunities to enjoy the railroad.

Our goal is to provide information and opportunities for hands-on experience with:
Steam engines
Diesel engines
Railway cars
Train Trucks (Wheels)
Train Air brakes
Maintenance equipment
Track (design & maintenance)
Understanding Signal systems
& how they work

Volunteers can also be involved in construction of scenery used on our 1/8 scale railroad

Youth will learn and understand our operating rules.

Upon joining TAP, you will receive our
SLVSRM monthly newsletter, a name badge and a rule book.
